The Yellow Treehouse
This stunning treehouse restaurant was designed by Pacific Environment Architects in New Zealand. The company was commissioned by the country’s Yellow Pages as part of a promotion for the phone book.
The pod-like café will seat 18 people, is 10m wide, 12m high and is built 10m up a 40m tall Redwood tree. The lighting creates a dramatic effect at night as it glows through the wooden slats. There is clear acrylic under the roof for protection during rainy weather. To get to the treehouse restaurant, a 60m long walkway has been designed.
