The Lotus Ice Vehicle
The Lotus Ice Vehicle is being developed to help with research on the Moon Regan TransAntarctic Expedition.
Details on the exact specifications of the Concept Ice Vehicle (CIV) are very slim, but we do know it does have a radar to detect crevasses in the snow.
Powered by biofuel and light enough to be manually pulled across difficult terrain, it is the first of three expedition support models.
The photos that have been released are just teasers, but never mind Antarctic expeditions: this looks much more fun than a snowmobile for the rest of us!
