Memory Polymers Preserve Your Beauty

Stanford University scientists have now developed and patented special bandages to prevent the stretching and raising of scars. They are made from special “memory” polymers which remember their shape once applied. Very strong adhesives or sewing and stapling during surgery have to be used to keep these bandages in place until the wound heals flat.

This is a great innovative as those scars which form after surgery or injury are raised, tough and ugly to look at. They remain unpleasant and unsightly reminders of the trauma long after the body has healed. These scars develop either by the tissue stretching whenever the patient moves during the healing process or gets bumpy because of underlying swelling.

The new bandages could be that kiss that really makes a wound better.
